These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website generalfencecontractors.com and the fencing and gate services provided by General Fence Contractors Inc. (“General Fence Contractors,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By requesting a quote, contacting us, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Our Services
We provide custom driveway gates, gate automation, privacy fencing, ornamental iron, wood and steel fencing, and fence and gate repair for residential and commercial property owners in Modesto and California’s Central Valley, including Turlock, Manteca, Ripon, Oakdale, Ceres and Hughson.
3. Estimates and Quotes
Estimates are free and are based on the information you provide and, where applicable, an on-site measurement. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and may be revised if site conditions, measurements, material costs, or the agreed scope of work change. Work begins only after you approve a written quote or agreement.
4. Pricing and Payment
Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars. Custom-built products are ordered to your specifications, so a deposit may be required before materials are ordered. Remaining balances are due on completion unless your written agreement says otherwise. Deposits on custom orders may be non-refundable once materials have been ordered or production has begun.
5. Scheduling, Site Access and Property Conditions
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the work area on scheduled dates. Installation timelines are estimates and may be affected by weather, material lead times, permitting, or conditions discovered on site. You are responsible for identifying property lines and, where required, obtaining HOA or neighbor approval. We will request utility locating where required by law, but we are not responsible for damage to unmarked or incorrectly marked private lines, irrigation, or other buried items.
6. Permits
Permit requirements vary by city and county. Unless your written agreement states that we are obtaining the permit, obtaining any required permits or approvals is your responsibility.
7. Warranty
We provide a 5-year structural warranty on steel frames and a 2-year warranty on powder coating and finishes, beginning on the date of completion. Warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship. They do not cover normal wear, weathering of natural wood, damage from storms, vehicles, vandalism, ground movement, improper use, or modifications or repairs performed by others. Warranty service requires that your account is paid in full.
8. Cancellations and Changes
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel. Changes to an approved scope of work must be agreed in writing and may affect price and schedule. Cancellation of custom-built orders after materials have been ordered may be subject to charges for materials and labor already incurred. California law may give you additional cancellation rights for certain home-improvement contracts, and nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
9. Text Messaging (SMS) Terms

Program description: General Fence Contractors Inc. sends text messages about quotes and estimates — for example, confirming that we received your request, sending or following up on a written estimate, asking for details or photos we need to price your job, and answering questions you send us about a quote. These are customer-service and transactional messages related to your request. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
How you opt in: You consent to receive text messages from us when you provide your mobile number to us — for example on our online quote or contact form, over the phone, or by texting us first. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from us.
Message frequency: Message frequency varies and depends on your request. Most customers receive only a few messages while their quote or project is active.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply. Standard fees charged by your mobile carrier may apply to messages you send and receive.
Opt-out instructions (STOP): You can cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you reply STOP, we will send one confirmation message and will not send you further texts unless you opt back in. You may also opt out by calling us at 209-542-0730 or emailing job@generalfencecontractors.com. To rejoin, reply START or contact us and ask to receive texts again.

We ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern directly. Complaints about licensed contractors may also be directed to the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
